The best AI trading apps and bots for crypto in 2026, compared on how you set up a strategy, testing, safety limits, exchanges and price, with sources.
Short answer
The best AI trading app depends on how you want to work. TradeCorgi turns plain-language strategies into agents with enforced loss limits; 3Commas, Cryptohopper and Bitsgap offer settings-based bot menus; Pionex builds free bots into its own exchange; and ChatGPT or Claude can trade through exchange agent tools, without built-in limits.
We make TradeCorgi, so we have kept every statement about other products to facts from their own public pages, or from a dated pricing roundup where a pricing page could not be read. Each source is listed at the end with the date we checked it. Prices are monthly, billed monthly, in US dollars.
We compared six options on what matters most when software trades your money:
TradeCorgi turns a strategy you describe in plain words, in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Hindi, into an agent with confirmed rules. Every strategy is backtested with the exchange's fees and slippage, next to simply holding the coin, then runs on paper with live prices before it can trade real money.
Best for: traders who think in rules and want an agent they can trust with real money.
3Commas is a bot platform where you choose a bot type and configure its settings. Its backtesting page says it can simulate trading fees and slippage, with settings you adjust. Plans were listed at $20, $50 and $140 a month in October 2026.
Best for: experienced bot users who think in settings and want many bot types.
Cryptohopper lists three plans: Explorer at $29, Adventurer at $69 and Hero at $129 a month, with AI strategies on Hero. Its former free Pioneer plan has been folded into Explorer. It offers backtesting, paper trading and a strategy designer.
Best for: traders who want to build strategies visually across many coins.
Bitsgap's pricing page lists a free plan with 20 demo bots, then Basic at $29, Advanced at $69 and Pro at $149 a month. Paid plans include grid and DCA bots and an AI assistant; backtesting runs up to 30, 180 or 365 days by plan, and futures bots start on Advanced.
Best for: traders who mainly run grid and DCA bots across exchanges.
Pionex is an exchange with trading bots built in. Its own pages say the bots are free to use, with no extra charge beyond trading fees. Because the bots run on Pionex itself, your funds are held on the Pionex exchange rather than on an exchange you already use.
Best for: people happy to move funds to Pionex in exchange for free built-in bots.
Since 2026, exchanges have released tools that let AI assistants place orders, such as Kraken's command-line tool with MCP support and Coinbase for Agents. An assistant connected this way can trade on your instructions, but it has no persistent rules engine, no standing watch of the market, no strategy testing with fees and no limits beyond what the exchange enforces.
Best for: developers experimenting with agents on small amounts. Read our guides on ChatGPT and Claude trading bots.
Take the rule "buy $50 of BTC when it falls 5% in a day, sell at 4% above, stop at 6% below".
In a settings-based app you pick a bot type that fits, then translate the rule into its fields: trigger, order size, take-profit and stop-loss settings.
In TradeCorgi you type the sentence. Your Corgi asks for the one missing limit, a daily loss cap, and shows the strategy card: entry, size, exit, stop-loss and a $25 daily loss limit. You confirm it, read the 90-day backtest with Binance's fees next to holding BTC, and start it on paper. This is an illustrative example, not a real result.
If you want to describe strategies in your own words and run them with limits that cannot be skipped, start with TradeCorgi's free Sandbox and test your first idea on paper. If you already run settings-based bots, describe one of them in TradeCorgi and compare the backtests side by side.
One that lets you describe a strategy in plain words, tests it with fees, runs it on paper first and enforces loss limits. TradeCorgi is built around exactly that, and its Sandbox plan is free.
Several have free tiers. TradeCorgi's Sandbox runs a paper agent free; Bitsgap's free plan includes demo bots; Pionex bots are free but run on the Pionex exchange.
Connected through exchange agent tools, it can place orders, but it has no built-in limits, does not watch the market between messages and does not test strategies with fees.
Apps that connect to US exchanges such as Coinbase and Kraken. TradeCorgi supports both. Check each app's supported exchanges and your country before signing up.
No legitimate app can. Treat any promise of fixed or high returns as a warning sign, and judge apps on testing, limits and transparency instead.
From each product's public pages and pricing, checked on October 27, 2026, with sources listed below. We make TradeCorgi, so we have described every product only from facts we could source.
