Binance trading bot and API key setup: connect Binance safely

Run a Binance trading bot with a trade-only API key: what agents can automate, how to set up the key, a security checklist, fees and troubleshooting.

Short answer

You can connect Binance to TradeCorgi with a trade-only API key, so an agent can place spot orders on your own account but never withdraw. TradeCorgi rejects any key with withdrawal permission, asks you to limit the key to its server addresses, and checks your limits before every order.

What you can automate on Binance

Describe a rule in plain words and an agent runs it on your Binance spot account, checking the market at most once a minute.

  • Dip buys

Buy a set amount when a coin falls a set percentage within a window, such as 5% in 24 hours.

  • Recurring buys

Buy a fixed amount on a schedule, with a rule that pauses buying after a deep fall.

  • Take-profit and stop-loss

Sell at a set gain or a set loss from your buy price, on every position the agent opens.

  • Indicator rules

Act on indicator levels such as RSI, alone or combined with price moves and schedules.

On Copilot you get an alert with a link to Binance instead, and you place the order yourself.

Create a trade-only Binance API key

  1. Log in to Binance on the website and open API Management from your account menu. Binance asks for two-factor authentication and a verified account first.
  2. Choose Create API, pick a system-generated key, name it something you will recognise, such as TradeCorgi, and confirm with your two-factor code.
  3. Edit the key's restrictions and choose Restrict access to trusted IPs only, then add every TradeCorgi server address shown in the app.
  4. Tick Enable Spot & Margin Trading, which Binance offers only once the IP restriction is set. Leave withdrawals, transfers and futures off.
  5. Copy the API key and secret key into TradeCorgi; Binance shows the secret only once. We check the permissions before saving it.

What TradeCorgi checks when you connect Binance

  • The key can trade but cannot withdraw. A key with withdrawal permission is rejected.
  • The key is limited to TradeCorgi’s server addresses, where Binance supports it.
  • The key works and can read your balances, so the agent knows what it may spend.
  • The same checks run again every day. If one fails, your Binance agents pause and you are told why.

Keys are encrypted with a key unique to you, and are decrypted only inside the service that places orders.

Security checklist for your Binance key

  • Create a separate key just for TradeCorgi, so you can delete it without affecting anything else.
  • Allow spot trading only. Leave withdrawals and transfers off.
  • Turn on IP whitelisting with the addresses shown in the app.
  • Keep two-factor authentication on for your Binance login.
  • Never paste your key or secret into a chat, email or support form.
  • Start with a small live budget; in its first week a live agent uses at most 20% of the amount you plan.
  • Delete the key on Binance if you stop using TradeCorgi.

Binance fees

Every backtest and paper trade uses Binance’s fee for your account tier and its minimum order size, so a rule that only works before fees never looks good. Your agent pays the same trading fees you would pay placing the orders by hand.

Why traders run agents on Binance

Binance has the deepest liquidity of the five exchanges TradeCorgi supports, which matters for an agent: on liquid markets such as BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT, a market order usually fills close to the price the rule saw, so slippage stays small. It is available in most countries outside the United States, including India, where Binance is registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit.

That reach makes Binance the usual choice for traders in Brazil, Vietnam, Nigeria, Turkey and India who want an agent that understands them in their own language. You can describe your strategy in English, Spanish, Portuguese or Hindi, and your strategy card shows the exact rules in your language next to a plain English version.

Binance's own agent tools, and where TradeCorgi fits

In August 2026 Binance opened Agent OS, which lets AI agents trade on Binance accounts. It is built for developers, it works on Binance only, and, as reported at launch, it sets no cap on what an agent can lose. Binance sees the orders, not the reasoning behind them.

TradeCorgi is the layer on top for people who will never open a terminal:

  • Limits the agent cannot cross. Budget, stop-loss, daily loss limit and open positions are checked before any order reaches Binance.
  • A reason for every order. The decision log says which rule triggered and what price Binance filled it at.
  • Testing before money. Every rule is backtested with Binance's fees and minimum order sizes, then run on paper with live Binance prices.
  • One place for every exchange. Agents on Binance sit in the same list as agents on Kraken or OKX, with one kill switch.

A worked example on Binance

Take the BTC Dip Buyer: buy $50 of BTC when it falls 5% within 24 hours, sell 4% above the buy price, stop out 6% below it, and pause for the day after $25 of losses. On Binance the agent watches the BTC/USDT price at most once a minute. When BTC falls far enough, it checks the budget and the daily limit, places a $50 spot market order, and writes the fill price and the rule into the log.

If Binance's fee for your tier were 0.1% per order, that $50 buy would pay $0.05 in fees and the matching sell about the same. Those fees are already in the backtest you saw before going live. This is an illustrative example, not a real result.

Who Binance suits on TradeCorgi

  • Traders outside the United States who want the most coins and the deepest order books.
  • Traders in India who want a global exchange that is registered locally.
  • Anyone running dip-buy or recurring-buy rules on BTC and ETH, where liquidity keeps fills close to the rule's price.

Traders in the United States can connect Coinbase or Kraken.

Before you connect

Run your strategy on paper first. When you go live, the agent trades on your own Binance account with the amount you allow, and in its first week it uses at most 20% of that amount. If anything looks wrong, one tap pauses the agent, and "Pause and close" also sells its open positions at market price on Binance.

How a live agent behaves on Binance

  • Paper first

Every strategy runs on paper with Binance’s live prices before it can trade real money.

  • Limits before every order

Budget, stop-loss, daily loss limit and open positions are checked before each order reaches Binance.

  • A reason for every trade

The decision log records the rule behind each order and the price Binance actually filled it at.

  • One tap to stop

Pause an agent, or pause it and sell its open positions at market price on Binance.

Troubleshooting

The key was rejected when I connected it
The key most likely has withdrawal permission, or no trading permission. Create a new key with spot trading only and try again.
The connection fails after I added IP whitelisting
Check that every address shown in the app is on the key exactly, with nothing else. A missing address blocks some requests.
My agent paused and says the key failed
The key was deleted, expired or changed on Binance. Your funds and positions stay on Binance. Connect a new key to resume.
My agent paused during maintenance
Agents pause when Binance is under maintenance or prices are more than 2 minutes old, and tell you why. Check Binance’s status page, then resume.
My agent paused with a position mismatch
The agent’s record no longer matches your Binance account, for example after a trade placed by hand on the same coin. Review the positions, then resume.
An order was skipped as too small
Binance sets a minimum order size for each market. Raise the amount per order in your strategy card.

Binance questions

Can TradeCorgi withdraw from my Binance account?

No. A key with withdrawal permission is rejected when you connect it and on every daily check. Your funds stay on your Binance account.

What happens if I delete the key on Binance?

Your agents on Binance pause and tell you the key failed. Your funds and open positions stay on your Binance account.

Can agents trade Binance futures or margin?

No. Agents trade spot only, with no leverage, on every exchange. Leave margin and futures permissions off on the key.

Can I use Binance from India with TradeCorgi?

Yes. Binance is available to users in India for spot trading. Binance does not offer futures to Indian users, and TradeCorgi agents trade spot only anyway.

Is TradeCorgi available for Binance users in the United States?

No. Binance.com does not serve US users, so TradeCorgi does not show it there. US users can connect Coinbase or Kraken.

Why use TradeCorgi instead of Binance's own agent tools?

Binance's tools let an agent trade on Binance. TradeCorgi adds hard loss limits checked before every order, a written reason for each trade, backtests with fees, and one place to run and stop agents across exchanges.

Does TradeCorgi earn anything from Binance?

Binance may pay TradeCorgi a share of trading fees when you open an account through our links. It never changes your fees and never changes how your agents trade.
